Kelly Cresswell live at the Mill

THE MOST ASTONISHING thing about Kelly Cresswell’s June 2021 Mill Session performances is they came just a year after she’d taken up songwriting as a distraction from her challenging role as an NHS Nurse.

A multi-instrumentalist and versatile vocalist, she began by entertaining online audiences by live streaming on Facebook. Fast forward to 2023 and she is now an accomplished solo acoustic musician who has released six singles, all showcasing her catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics that are often based on her own life experiences.

Kelly, from Widnes, works frequently with Colin Guthrie, a talented guitarist from Liverpool who helps produce her music and is a firm friend. Just three years into her songwriting, her next aim is to create an EP of original music to showcase her songwriting that she would like to make available in CD format as well as digitally.
